Who Are We?



Costa de la Luz Homes S.L. is a well-established Spanish limited company, but at the same time it is a family business where we all work hard to make you feel at home and help you find the right property, be it in Chiclana, Alcalá de los Gazules, Paterna de Rivera, Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Vejer, or wherever. You won't get any hard selling here, we just show you a range of quality real estate, answer your questions, give you our best advice and then leave it up to you to decide whether you want to buy or not.

María José was born in Cadiz and has many years experience (in Spain and the UK) both in Customer Service and as an estate agent. Roy is María José's husband and, although born and raised in Somerset, he has been around the Costa de la Luz area for over 25 years. María usually handles Listings and Sales while Roy's background as a translator and editor makes him the ideal person to handle the fine detail often associated with the backroom work (contracts, mortgages, etc.) as well as acting as your interpreter for your private contract and completion. Over the years we have got to know a lot of people in this area, both good and bad! We know the right people to get things done but we also know the cowboys so we can steer you away from them and safely through the minefield of buying real estate in Spain.

Irene is our office manager. If you come into the office in the Eroski Shopping Centre in Chiclana she will usually be the first person you talk to, she speaks good English so don't be afraid to talk to her and tell her what sort of property you are looking for! Apart from being your first point of contact, Irene is also responsible for keeping the real estate database up to date, preparing your itinerary when you want to view properties and helping to coordinate all aspects of your purchase from the time you decide that you have found the property you want right through to signing of the deeds.

Karen learnt her Spanish during her years on the stage in Argentina, spent some time as a publican in Kent and a few years in field marketing for several major retailers. All of these skills are now being put to good use running the Rentals and Property Management division. If you have a property to rent or if you need a professional to carry out any maintenance work, Karen is the person to contact.
